trade in cereals, oilseeds and protein crops
For many years, our Group has been a regional market leader in the trade of protein crops (mainly soybean meal), cereals (mainly maize, wheat, barley) and oilseeds (mainly soybeans, rapeseed, sunflower). Our fundamental task as part of the supply chain is to ensure that the raw materials produced by farmers are used as efficiently as possible, in line with today's criteria, with the lowest possible environmental footprint and in a sustainable manner. the traceability and the ESG Directives delivered to the processing industry by land (road and rail) and water (ship), in accordance with regulations. In addition to supplying the group's feed blenders, our activities include trading to processors in domestic and foreign markets, all efficiently and in close cooperation with our international offices, exploiting synergies between our offices. We have long and short term leased logistics warehouse bases in several locations in the country, of which our intermodal logistics centre in Matészalka, where the site's railway siding provides access to the national railway network, is also a key strategic element in achieving our objectives.
Our export markets are mainly Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Slovenia and the Balkan region.
Feed production and trade
Within the UBM Group, the feed business is represented by UBM Feed Zrt. Its activities cover the full range of feed production and trade. Since 2004, the UBM Group has one of the most modern production backgrounds in the field of feed materials, premixes and feed materials production in Hungary. The product range of UBM Feed Zrt. includes all the raw materials and finished products that are a potential component of the feed of all our farm animal species. We are proud to know that the employees of UBM Feed Zrt. form a team that enables our company to meet the high professional and business expectations of our partners. The UBM Group is committed to increasing sustainability, improving feed utilisation (freeing up vast areas of arable land for other uses) and improving environmental performance. The preparation of an ESG report, which puts sustainability at the forefront, and the fulfilment of its criteria are already integrated into our activities.

Large-scale livestock farming

Our livestock business operates as a separate business within the UBM Group, but in close cooperation with the other businesses. Our explicit intention is to capture all the synergies offered by the UBM Group in terms of raw material sourcing, feed production, partnering and financing and to use them to increase our competitiveness and achieve market advantages. As an independent business unit, the new business unit will be able to contract grain and other feed materials according to its own needs, and will have a say in the joint development of the most favourable compound feeds and feeding processes for the period, variety and market requirements.
Currently, around 250,000 fattening pigs are produced each year in the integrations under the supervision of the business, partly by the business itself and partly by contract fatteners, using different technologies. From this changing environment, the structured information provided by the Livestocker system and the direct feedback on UBM's products and services offer a unique opportunity to develop our own competences.
Our plans include the implementation of a giga pig farm based on circular farming, environmentally conscious and animal-friendly technology in Transdanubia, and the continuous expansion of our integrations to 500,000 pigs per year for the next 3 years.
